Joshua Toler began playing music at the age of six, beginning with piano and vocal studies. At the age of nine, he picked up the violin and continued to play the violin until he was fourteen as a Freshman in High School. He began playing his primary instrument; the trumpet, at the age of eleven. Joshua's initial studies were with Elementary music teacher, and former Army Band member, Bruce Penticoff. The following year, he began studying with Mr. John Kuntz, and continued his studies for five years. Then, moving into his Junior year in high school, Joshua began studying with The professor of trumpet at the University of Central Florida, Mr. John Almeida. Joshua was also mentored by pianist, composer, and master transcriber, Joseph Kreines for a majority of his career in trumpet.
